Laura Granero is pursuing PhD studies at Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts (mdw) under the direction of Dr Prof Clive Brown (author of Classical and Romantic Performance Practice). She was awarded with the excellence scholarship La Caixa, obtaining the highest possible callification (extraordinary). The title of her dissertation is “Clara Schumann’s Tradition through the Recordings and Piano Rolls of her Pupils”.  In her research, Laura aims at exploring the performance of Clara Schumann’s students by analysing these sources and comparing them to written sources of the time. Laura has also research on the topic of vocality at the piano in the 19th century, in particular in the case of Robert Schumann’s Lieder through piano transcription. She has been invited to give lectures at important institutions in Europe and Australia.
